Retaining the classic look of their Cape Town home the owners added fresh flair

When Dirk van Schalkwyk and Louis Pretorius bought this property in Cape Town, it still reflected its lineage as one of four original Victorian houses on the block dating back to 1901. The first step was to open up the various small rooms. Many of the interior walls were demolished, the ceiling was raised and a Zen garden was added.
